I founded the New York Augmented Reality Meetup in 2020 to connect with others in the AR space during the early days of the pandemic. What started as a remote meetup quickly grew into one of the largest AR communities in the industry, with over 2,500 members. We transitioned to both in-person, and remote events and hosted incredible gatherings—one at Columbia University sponsored by the Society for Information Display, and others including an art walk with Shuli Sade and an immersive experience with TinDrum. Alongside the events, I wrote the New York Augmented Reality newsletter, which became a go-to source for industry news, followed by professionals across the field. I’ve since paused the group to focus on Unity development, but I’m looking forward to building it back up.
