About Red 6
Red 6 offers Augmented Reality training systems for future Air Force pilots. Traditionally, trainees engage with contracted adversaries—called “Red Air”—at costs exceeding $40,000 per hour. This system replaces them with virtual opponents rendered in real-time AR during flight, significantly reducing costs while increasing scalability. The core technology is also being expanded across defense and consumer applications.
My Role
At Red 6, I’ve worked at the intersection of UX Engineering and Technical Art. I’ve contributed to next-generation in-flight prototypes and VR/XR tools aimed at enhancing the flight debrief experience. On the technical side, I collaborate with both design and engineering teams to bring 3D assets, advanced materials/shaders, and Niagara VFX into production-ready, in-flight AR systems.
Although my focus is on UX Engineering, working on the technical side has been a valuable learning experience—and it's given me the tools to build more capable, integrated prototypes moving forward.
